A certain aesthetic of slowing down is not only omnipresent in South Summit’s sound design, but also an integral part of their production process. Straddling indie and reggae, alternative rock and dub, the songs by this Australian project are given plenty of room to unfold sonically and atmospherically. From the very beginning, experimentation has been an indispensable part of the jam session process, which early on produced goosebump-inducing tracks like “Runaway” (2022). Already a treat to listen to instrumentally, this turned out to be just the beginning. Whether it’s the heartbreak anthem “Changes” on the painfully beautiful EP “Creatures” (2023) or the sweetly hazy summer soundtrack “We Are” (2025) with all its roots influences—here are five full-blooded musicians at work who seem to pull off everything with captivating ease. Down Under, they’ve become a cult band—at least since their debut album “The Bliss” (2024)—and have long been known for their highly emotional live shows.
With their second album “Run It Back” (2026) in tow, South Summit is now coming to Berlin and will be stopping at the Maschinenhaus at the Kulturbrauerei on September 19, 2026. Anyone who’s seen the band live before knows: this mix of infectious energy, musical finesse, and laid-back vibe is not to be missed.
