About us
Kulturbrauerei
This special venue stands out thanks to its profile, which has been shaped by its eventful history and the diverse range of content in its current operations. Since the 1990s, the people behind the Kes-sel- und Maschinenhaus have been among the pioneers of the "Berlin boom" and have set culturally relevant accents in this context - including Pop-komm, Fête de la Musique, Most Wanted Music, Synästhesie and the Pop-Kultur Festival. The organizing team has successfully transformed the site into a modern venue for music, dance, theater, literature and parties and offers a programme that goes beyond short-lived trends. Today, the rough, industrial-looking buildings of the former brewery, built in 1867, use state-of-the-art technology, passion and energy to create a contrast that has been delighting visitors for 30 years.
Boiler house
The Kesselhaus is the venue for festivals, concerts, readings, dance events, theater productions and party series. The hall also serves as an extraordinary backdrop for various TV productions. The musical profile of the former brewery building is broad and ranges from pop and rock concerts to Latin American and Francophone sounds to jazz and blues. The Kesselhaus enjoys an international reputation in this area. Annual events, open airs and major events on the grounds of the Kultur-brauerei - such as the hippie house dance concerts of the 17 Hippies, the Jazzdor, Mississippi Blues & BBQ and K-Indie On festivals - demonstrate the enormous range of the Kesselhaus. Paul van Dyk regularly plays the hall on his "Vandit Night". The venue's own party format "Move iT!" has long been cult. The directly adjacent Maschinenhaus can be used flexibly for large events - an opening also allows direct access to the neighboring Palais.
Machine House
Concerts, theater productions and readings are just as important in the adjacent, smaller Maschinenhaus. The technically state-of-the-art hall seats 250 guests. Here you can experience great concerts by up-and-coming bands, intimate acoustic concerts by musical greats and insider tips from the international music scene. The weekly shows by the improv theater Paternoster have become an institution. The Maschinenhaus offers an optimal reception service in the basement, combined with a checkroom and entrance area. The Kesselhaus and Maschinenhaus are located right next to each other, making it possible to create a spatial and thematic link for larger events.
