The Russian duo Stoptime is currently at the center of an extraordinary story between music and political reality: their case caused widespread public outrage after they were arrested several times in Saint Petersburg for performing songs by the regime-critical artist Noize MC. In October 2025, the band members were arrested three times by the police, followed by administrative penalties and fines. At the end of November, they left Russia and began a new chapter in Europe.
Today, Stoptime are back in their new home, writing new songs and performing on stage again. Their music combines catchy pop with a palpable urgency and personal experiences from recent times.
On Wednesday, May 6, at 20:00, Stoptime will be playing at the Maschinenhaus in the Kulturbrauerei. The audience can expect an intense evening with cover versions of well-known artists as well as their own songs - including new pieces written after their emigration.
