Sofia Camara is a singer with a clear goal: she wants to write music and use her voice to give people the feeling that they are not alone. After building up a following with cover versions, the 22-year-old took off with her own songs. Her emotional ballad "Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent)" went viral in 2022 and became her biggest hit to date with over 44 million global streams. in 2024, she performed the Canadian national anthem at the CFL Grey Cup, while her reinterpretation of Nickelback's "What Are You Waiting For?" became the official song of the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship. In the same year, Sofia Camara toured Europe and the UK with Alex Warren and also played her first sold-out headline shows. At the beginning of 2025, she returned as Dean Lewis' opening act. On the Australian singer-songwriter's tour, Sofia Camara performed the song "With You" with Lewis as an emotional duet, which was released as a studio version in March. Two weeks after the release of the joint single, the singer released her debut EP "Was I(t) Worth It?" and continued to draw attention to herself and her music. With momentum on her side, Sofia Camara is coming to Germany for two headline shows in October.
In Toronto's west end, Sofia Camara grew up to the sounds of Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Guns N' Roses and Nirvana. Inspired by rock music, she began taking guitar, bass and piano lessons while looking up to singers like Ariana Grande, Adele and Christina Aguilera. Sofia Camara quickly created her first cover versions, which she posted on TikTok and YouTube, building up a fanbase that even Miley Cyrus would acknowledge. Following the success of her videos, Sofia Camara debuted in 2021 with her single 'Without You', a minimalist pop piano ballad. With a penchant for grueling love songs, the single "Never Be Yours" followed in 2022, which was also released as an acoustic version in 2023. 2023 saw the release of "Something Better", "Different" and her interpretation of the Christmas classic "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" before Sofia Camara achieved the biggest success of her young career to date with her single "Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent)" in March 2024. Building on the minimalist sound of her debut single, further songs followed with "Do You Love Me" and "Myself" feat. Fernando Daniel, which soar into anthemic pop spheres, as can also be heard on the symphonic-colored single "Starlight". Sofia Camara's debut EP "Was I(t) Worth It?" was released on March 21 via Universal Music. With six rousing pop anthems, the EP itself outlines where the singer is already at in her still young career.
