"A book of radical beauty." Antje Rávik Strubel

Driven by gloomy thoughts in her everyday life and an incessant racing in her body, Johanna gets stranded in a surf camp in the Algarve. Instead of returning home after a two-week summer vacation, resuming her career as a voice actress and saving her relationship with Rosa, she stays on the Atlantic coast. She starts working at the surf camp, falls in love with two women at once and seems to feel a little lighter with each day in the waves. But with the onset of autumn, what she actually wants to leave behind catches up with her.

"House of Wind" is a surf novel without surfer boys, a summer novel with a stormy winter. The belated coming of age of a child who grew up too early. And the story of a queer East German woman searching for her own voice.

Laura Nauman, born in Leipzig in 1989, lives in Berlin. Her plays have been performed and awarded numerous times in German-speaking countries, including commissioned works for Schauspielhaus Bochum, Schauspiel Frankfurt and Staatsschauspiel Dresden. She is co-founder of the performance collectives machina eX and Henrike Iglesias. She studied creative writing and cultural journalism at the University of Hildesheim until 2012 and screenwriting at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin since 2022. "Haus aus Wind" is her debut novel.

Tina Pfurr is artistic co-director of Ballhaus Ost in Berlin. She also works as a curator, performer, actress, presenter and speaker and develops her own projects. In recent years, she has worked at various theaters worldwide. She regularly works in front of the camera for film and television and produces her own video works. From 2019 to 2023, Tina Pfurr explained the job exchange "Indeed" in the role of the lively Ingrid.

"Haus aus Wind", 336 pages, will be published on 24.07.2024 by S. Fischer Verlag
