With a dark, atmospheric sound that blends gothic rock, post-punk, and darkwave, She Wants Revenge enjoyed huge success worldwide amid the post-punk revival of the 2000s. In the U.S., the duo—comprising singer and guitarist Justin Warfield and multi-instrumentalist Adam Bravin—sold over 300,000 records and had all three of their albums to date enter the Billboard 200. Their song “Tear You Apart” peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, became the biggest hit of their career, and made their self-titled debut album a major success. In 2012, the band broke up after releasing two more albums and finally returned in 2022 following another hiatus. Since then, She Wants Revenge has toured Europe and Germany several times, where they will also be performing live again in February 2027.
She Wants Revenge was formed in 2004 as a duo in Los Angeles by Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin and was signed in 2005 by Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit) to his label, Flawless Records. Following the release of their debut EP “These Things,” the musicians released their debut album “She Wants Revenge” in 2006, which, in addition to a Top 40 spot on the Billboard 200, also reached No. 3 on the U.S. dance charts and the Top 10 on the U.S. rock charts. The duo subsequently toured as the opening act for Depeche Mode and Placebo and contributed a feature to Timbaland’s song “Time” in 2007. That same year, their second album, “This Is Forever,” was released, peaking at No. 14 on the U.S. Alternative Charts.
After founding their own label, Perfect Kiss, She Wants Revenge released the two EPs “Save Your Soul” (2008) and “Up and Down” (2009), before “Valleyheart” was released as their final album for the time being. The single “Kiss The Night Away” (2012) was followed by the band’s temporary hiatus, which lasted until 2015. After a three-year hiatus, She Wants Revenge officially returned in 2015 and released the two singles “Never” (2016) and “Big Love” (2018) before disbanding once again. In 2022, the band finally announced that they were working on new material and toured the U.S. and Europe. Despite further tours starting in 2023, fans have been waiting for new material since the last reunion. In 2026, to mark the 20th anniversary of “She Wants Revenge,” a deluxe edition of the debut album was released, featuring demos, alternate versions, live recordings, and remixes, as well as a previously unreleased song titled “Sarah Says.”
