Amid washed-out guitars and electronic drumbeats, re6ce uses their soft voice to create a dreamy sound that blends modern indie, alt-pop, and post-punk. The non-binary artist from Liverpool draws equally on the flair of underground hip-hop and bedroom pop, genres re6ce grew up with. Starting in 2022, the artist enjoyed viral success, which led to a signing with Atlantic Records at the age of 18 and, alongside that, worldwide attention. This was followed by support shows for glaive, ericdoa, and ThxSoMch, which sealed re6ce’s national breakthrough—a success the artist has been steadily building upon ever since with a steady stream of new music. Now, re6ce is set to release their debut album on July 21. That’s also the day the artist will celebrate his 21st birthday. In November, re6ce will take his debut album on a headline tour to Cologne, Berlin, and Munich.
Inspired by the possibilities of the internet and artists like Aldn and MGMT, re6ce taught himself all his musical skills starting at age 15, pursuing a consistently experimental approach. After releasing his first songs in 2021, “cabin fever” came out in 2022 as the first of three viral hits that brought re6ce’s music—and songs like “vampire” and “teeth (you)”—to international attention through various playlists. After releasing additional singles and signing with a major label, re6ce finally celebrated her label debut with Atlantic in early 2024 with the single “LUVsick!” featuring ThxSoMuch. This was followed by singles such as the hit track “brown eyes*” and “i dont even own prada shoes lol,” which culminated in the release of the EP “grey europe.” Later that same year, new songs and the next EP, “EYEBLEACH.,” were released, before the single “change4u.” propelled re6ce’s sound into modern pop-punk territory in 2025. In 2026, re6ce released the three mini-EPs “soul,” “body,” and “spirit,” each featuring three songs and showcasing different influences. Songs like “GRaVELiNEs” and “cOmPuTeR LoVE” pushed the sound more toward hyperpop and alt-pop, while other tracks highlighted the artist’s indie core. The new song “minE” is now the lead single from the debut album “soul, body, spirit.” The album features a total of eleven songs, none of which are related to the three previously released mini-EPs, as re6ce confirmed on Instagram.
