Over the past seven years, MASTERPEACE has created a multifaceted perspective on the musical oeuvre of the great master DYLAN through their own interpretations. At the end of 2023, eleven of the songs were mixed in London and pressed onto the latest CD released by the Buschfunk label in Berlin. To introduce this ambitious project—featuring an international lineup—to a wider audience, MASTERPEACE are embarking on a small but exquisite “Dylan Project” Record Release Tour Part II.

BOB DYLAN is rightly considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. His songs continue to inspire countless singers, songwriters, and instrumentalists to this day and have been interpreted in countless ways.

This is also the case with the band MASTERPEACE, in which six excellent musicians from different countries have come together for the Dylan Project. What sets this group—founded in 2016—apart, however, is that the songs of the American folk/rock legend Bob Dylan are sung by a woman in MASTERPEACE, namely by singer Steffi Breiting (who also performs with the bands Moods Of Ally and Sweet Confusion, as well as a backup singer, e.g., for Dirk Zöllner), whose voluminous, slightly throaty, and powerful soprano voice makes listening to the songs a highly engaging experience.

The rest of the MASTERPEACE lineup consists of Wolfram Bodag from the band Engerling (GDR blues icons and, for 30 years, the backing band for U.S. singer Mitch Ryder) on organ, piano, and harmonica, drummer Jeff Allen (also a member of the bands led by Snowy White and former Rolling Stone Mick Taylor), German guitarist Tobias Hillig (Moods Of Ally, Dirk Zöllner Band), who came up with the idea for MASTERPEACE—The Dylan Project, and bassist Malcolm Bruce (son of former Cream bassist Jack Bruce), who now plays all four strings on this project in place of bassist and MASTERPEACE co-founder Kuma Harada (Mick Taylor Band, among others) from Japan, who sadly passed away in March 2023.
