Driving beats, pulsating synthesizers, clever lyrics about topics such as mental health and politics and boisterous post-punk energy have characterized the music of GANS since the first day of their career. The fact that this sound led the band to sign to Pete Doherty's Strap Originals label after a DIY EP speaks for itself. Two years later, GANS have also long since proven that they can keep up with the big names in the British post-punk scene. After international tours supporting The Libertines and The Vaccines and the release of their debut album, the band from Birmingham had long since made a name for themselves beyond the UK. After a performance at the Eurosonic Festival in May, this led GANS 2026 as special guests on the supporting program of the 40th anniversary tour of alternative/indie rock legends Pixies.
In September, GANS will finally come to Germany for their first headline shows and will present their energetic sound in an intimate club atmosphere: in Munich's Kranhalle, Berlin's Maschinenhaus and Cologne's Blue Shell.
After some time in various bands in Birmingham, Euan Woodman (vocals & drums) and Thomas Rhodes (vocals & bass) decided to throw all the rules overboard and dedicate themselves to a new project. GANS was born out of this desire and officially launched in December 2023 with the release of the first single "WHAT YOU MEAN". On the song, the duo presented a mix of synthesizers, noise rock and danceable indie, which quickly attracted attention on a first DIY EP and led the band to a signing with Strap Originals. further standalone singles such as "HARRY'S TUNE", "TALK TOO MUCH", "BUSINESS" and "DIRTY COWBOY" followed in 2024, revealing the many facets of GANS' musical vision. With the song "IN TIME", a driving post-punk anthem, GANS finally began the album cycle of their debut album "GOOD FOR THE SOUL". The album was released in September 2025 after four more singles and was produced by Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, M.I.A.). With influences from indie, alternative and post-punk, GANS experiment with horns ("NIGHTWALKING") as well as playful noise rock and dance-punk vibes ("I THINK I LIKE YOU") and present their versatile sound with one omnipresent aspect in particular: pure energy.
