Berlin Festival of the Harmonica presents the genre of the harmonica. Advance booking has started!
At the third HARMONICA FEN FESTIVAL 2026 in Berlin, music fans can experience the harmonica in many different facets. Today, the instrument is known to many only from blues, rock/pop and folk music and is often underestimated in the music world. International and top-class musicians will therefore bring the harmonica to the stage of Kesselhaus in the Kulturbrauerei Berlin in various genres from May 29-231, 2026.
With the third HARMONICA FEN FESTIVAL, artistic directors Sören Birke and Eric Dann, together with producer Julia Thurau, will once again bring an impressive variety of musical styles to the stage of Kesselhaus and Maschinenhaus in the Kulturbrauerei Berlin next May. Indian ragas will share the stage with old-time grooves, there will be classical and oriental jazz, country and Chicago blues, blues from Brazil and folk from Finland.
Genre diversity and the joy of music are paramount. In its second edition, the still young festival has already become a meeting place for international musicians. "The harmonica has a strong community. But what we need is a space to meet each other and to change ideas. The HARMONICA FEN FESTIVAL really creates that space for us. This festival unites people," says Ariel Bart, who played at the festival in 2024.
Unlike existing German festivals, the HARMONICA FEN FESTIVAL does not focus on a specific genre and deliberately dispenses with the usual competitions.
"The HARMONICA FEN FESTIVAL is a place for everyone who is prepared to be amazed and ready to encounter new things with great curiosity," says festival director Julia Thurau.
