In the series "Ceòlas - Scottish Music Nights "* we present new & acclaimed Scottish bands. Since 2023, the series has been bringing the beauty, complexity and modernity of Scottish folk music to German audiences. Supported by the Scottish cultural organization Showcase Scotland Expo and the Scottish Government in Berlin, two bands selected by a panel of music experts give concerts in Germany. *Ceòlas: Gaelic/Scottish for music

The Firelight Trio is a great new group made up of fiddle player Gavin Marwick, groovy accordionist/pianist Phil Alexander (Moishe's Bagel) and Ruth Morris (Outlander, HBO) on the beautiful Swedish nyckelharpa. They play European music that is atmospheric, inventive, versatile and endlessly exciting - a rich tapestry of lively Swedish polkas and Scottish reels, lilting French waltzes, rousing klezmer and stunning original tunes. "A true super group of roots music" (RnR Magazine). Highly expressive, impressively virtuosic and cheeky. www.firelighttrio.co.uk

Kim Carnie is best known as the lead singer of the band Mànran and has become one of Scotland's most sought-after singers since launching her solo career in 2018. Her velvety and slightly smoky voice thrills audiences on international stages. She also works as a presenter and has contributed to soundtracks for films and computer games worldwide. The award-winning singer, who was named Gaelic Singer of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards 2021, inspires not only with her music, but also with her impressive film "Out Loud". In this documentary, Carnie talks about her own coming out and interviews members of the LGBTQ community from around the world to shed light on the challenges they face. The film was awarded first place in the LGBTQ category at the Stockholm Film Festival. Kim Carnie will be joined by her band, consisting of Innes White on guitar, Megan Henderson on violin and John Lowrie on piano. www.kimcarnie.com
