With the HARMONICA FEN FESTIVAL 2024, Berlin harmonica player Marko Jovanović is bringing an impressive variety of musical styles to the stage for the second time. "The harmonica is often underestimated in our country. With our festival, we want to show everyone who loves music and is curious how multifaceted this instrument is," says the musician, describing the aims of the festival. Genre diversity and the joy of music are the top priorities.

Internationally renowned harmonica players have accepted Jovanović's invitation to Berlin: Herbie Hancock student Roni Eytan from New York (jazz, oriental), Opus Klassik prizewinner Konstantin Reinfeld, jazz virtuosos Filip Jers from Sweden and Ariel Bart from Israel, Japan's tremolo star Yuko Yanagawa, Spain's blues duo The Suitcase Brothers (Victor Puertas), virtuoso Joan Pau Cumellas from Spain (blues, jazz manouche) and the winner of the Toots Thielemans Challenge 2022 Rutger Mathys (Belgium) with his band Shikata Ga Nai. Curator Marko Jovanović opens with the Balkan trio Franolić Mureškič Gabrić . The six-piece Sirius Harmonica Ensemble from Taiwan will bring the festival to a close.

The festival offers
• three evenings with three (four on Saturday) top-class concerts of different musical styles.
• Jam sessions with the professionals on Friday and Saturday
• Masterclasses, lectures and workshops during the day for anyone who wants to go deeper or learn the instrument.
• Sunday afternoon: a free jam session in the beer garden of the Frannz Club.
F E N stands for Fascination Education Network and thus for the focus of the festival in 2022, 2024 and 2026. Eleven top-class ensembles have confirmed their attendance for 2024 - they come from Belgium, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Sweden, Spain and Taiwan. There will also be workshops for children and young people as well as master classes with the festival musicians.
